D.I.Y Textured Vase Upcycle Project

You’ve hit the jackpot at your local op shop (or the back of the cupboard) and found some vases with great structure but their patterns are less than desirable. Perfect. Daggy vases are our favourite thing to upcycle and it’s so easy to do.

What you need:

  1. A drop sheet to cover surfaces
  2. Vases in various sizes
  3. Sample pot brush
  4. Sample pot in chosen colour (we used Dulux Ballet Shoes and Dulux Red Shock)
  5. Plastic pot for mixing
  6. Baking powder
Project materials

The Process:

  1. Lay your drop sheet over your surface
  2. Pour 1 cup of paint into a plastic pot and mix 1 tablespoon of Baking Powder. You can mix more Baking Powder if you want a very textured finish.
