About Us

Inspirations Paint is Australia’s largest network of paint stores, with over 130 stores nationwide. Inspirations Paint does not manufacture paint, we are a group of paint stores that supply both professional painters and DIY retail customers.

Each year we sell over 25 million litres of paint, which is 1-in-every-5 litres of paint sold in Australia. So it's like every fifth building across Australia is painted with paint that came from an Inspirations Paint store. We think this is pretty cool.

OUR PURPOSE
Inspirations Paint's purpose is to help people enhance and transform their spaces. This is why we do what we do, its what gets us out of bed every morning.

OUR PHILOSOPHY
Further to this, our guiding philosophy is 'personal attention to your painting project'. This is how we do what we do. Making sure that every customer is treated as an individual with a paint project, not as just a transaction.

OUR PROMISE
Whenever a customer walks into one of our stores, talks to one of our staff or visits our website we want them to know that 'Their Project + Our Care & Expertise = Great Results'. This is our promise to all Aussie painters.

OUR STRUCTURE
Inspirations Paint operates as a franchise, where each store (franchisee) operates in their own local territory. So, we're made up of over 100 small, family-run businesses who employ local people in local communities across Australia.

OUR PARTNERS
The thousands of products sold in our stores come from over 50 suppliers. Our key supply partner is DuluxGroup, who provides product brands to us such as Dulux, Berger, Porter's Paints, Selleys, Rota Cota, Poly Professional, Cabot's, Intergrain and Feast Watson. Other major suppliers include: Rust-Oleum, Sikkens, Sequence and Graco.

OUR HISTORY
The company was born in Newcastle in 1979, back in the days when mission brown and burnt orange were all the rage. Originally called '3D Paint Stores', the organisation was set up as a buying group of five paint stores in Newcastle (NSW). The company prospered and attracted other stores, with the group growing to 20 stores in 1986.

The success of 3D accelerated when stores within Queensland, Victoria and Western Australia joined the group in the late 1980s. By 1993 store numbers exceeded 100 and it became obvious that 3D Paint Stores was outgrowing a buying group structure and a franchise model was adopted in 1997. At the same time the company strategically aligned itself with Dulux, a partnership that to this day is robust and integral to Inspirations’ reputation as delivering the best quality paint products to both retail and trade customers.

3D became Inspirations Paint & Colour in March 2007, and then Inspirations Paint was relaunched in March 2013 when a new logo and colour scheme was adopted. All 100+ stores were repainted and re-signed in the new colours and this has been the company's brand ever since.
