Temp Tips Part 2: Painting in the Cold & Wet

Don’t let a cold and rainy day stop you from tackling your upcycling project! A DIY upcycling project is the perfect way to spend your gloomy grey day.

The temperature will need to be above 10 degrees Celsius for optimal application conditions. If possible, move your paint project indoors (a shed, garage or laundry is the perfect place) and turn on a heater to warm the space up. Make sure you crack open the windows to let the air circulate.

Paint dries slower in the colder temps so allow extra drying time for projects, especially when you need to leave at least 12 hours dry time between coats. Try to avoid starting your project in the early morning or late afternoon when the weather is at its coolest – stick to the middle of the day.
