How To Paint New Exterior Vertical Cladding
Vertical cladding is a great way to add a modern touch to any home. But what we love most about vertical cladding is how easy it is to paint. In just 3 steps (4 steps if you include cleaning up), you can transform your exterior cladding of your home. Follow the steps below to prime and paint your vertical cladding with ease:
What you need:
How you do it:
Step 1:
Spot prime the exposed nail heads in the vertical cladding with Dulux Precision All Metal Primer. Apply 1x coat and allow to dry.
Step 2:
Apply 1x coat of Dulux 1Step Prep to the vertical cladding. Begin by cutting in with a brush along the edges and in the grooves of the cladding before rolling. Be sure to feather out the edges of the cutting in to ensure you get a nice smooth finish once you go in with the roller.
Step 3:
Apply 2x coats of Dulux Weathershield to the vertical cladding in your chosen colour. We used Dulux Domino for this project. Allow to dry between coats. Again, cut in with a brush along the edges and in the grooves before rolling.
Now that your exterior cladding is painted, why not give your interior VJ panels a new coat of paint. Here’s how you paint VJ panels or, if you’re feeling adventurous, here’s how you paint a VJ panel half wall.
