How to paint timber trims
Timber in a home can bring a great natural feel to a space, but nothing makes a home feel less modern than timber trims on the walls, ceilings and windows. Thankfully, with the right prep and products, modernising your timber trims is simple. Follow the steps below to bring your home roaring back into the 21st century.
Step 1:
Sand the timber trims with 120 grit sandpaper. Wipe away any excess dust.
Step 2:
Apply 1x coat of Dulux Precision High Opacity Stain Blocker primer to the timber trims.
Expert Tip - The stain blocking element is important as the timber will show through a regular primer, causing your trims to look yellow, not white as desired.
Step 3:
Apply 2x coats of your chosen top coat colour to the timber trims. We are using Dulux Aquanamel Semi Gloss in Lexicon Quarter. Allow to dry between coats.
Updating your timber trims is a fantastic way to breathe new life into an old home and this simple DIY project is the all the proof you need.
